Comments: I am looking for anyone who knew 1LT Johnny W. Benton from Air Cav Unit, 11th Cavalry. He was killed in action on 25 November 1968. I knew Johnny in basic training and we both went on to Officer Candidate, he to Armor OCS and I to Infantry OCS. I found out about Johnny's death in early December 1968 the day I arrived in Vietnam. I am going to visit Johnny's hometown of Jerome, Idaho in August. The town has erected a memorial to Johnny and I will meet with people who knew Johnny and pay tribute to him at his memorial and his grave.
Thank you.

Comments: Thank every one of you all for your sacrifices and your service to our country. It's excellent that you all have this resource to stay in touch, and it was a pleasure to look through your page and read more about the 11th. My grandfather, Donn Starry, commanded the 11th for a time in Vietnam and, growing up, never would shy away from teaching me everything he knew of military history and his time with the Unit. If anyone served with him, I'd love to hear from you. Even if just to say hello.

Comments: I served from April 1968 to April 1969. I was a tank driver in Delta Company, 11th Armored Cav., Tank Delta 23. Second Platoon. Lead Tank Driver. On or about May, June, or July of 1968 my tank hit a land mine. I'm not sure what part of the country this incident took place in. If anyone can remember, please contact me: cirjak068@gmail.com
Another incident was around Sept or Oct. 1968, possibly around Loc Ninh, we got ambushed leaving a night time defensive position and as lead tank driver took RPG hits to the gun shield and front slope of the tank. I was wounded during this action. If anyone recalls this action please contact me at: cirjak068@gmail.com
