My name is Joe Nemith III and my father (Joe Nemith Jr.) served in the 2/11th ACR in Quon Loi, Vietnam from 68-70. I'm just reaching out to see if anyone here served with my father.
He was from Akron, Ohio...My dad was my hero...he was an awesome man who talked very little of his time in Vietnam but discussed it more as he got older.
He came back home to Akron and worked in a machine shop and became a HS football coach & later on coached 10 years of college football. Unfortunately, he passed away in 2025...but I honor him everyday...his Blackhorse Regiment hat sits on my desk in my office as a reminder of the sacrifice he made.
He was such an inspiration to me that I became a college football coach and I still use the motto..."Find the * * * & pile on!" with my players. God Bless ALL OF YOU that served this great country. Hope to find someone that knows him. JNIII
