Clinton Mason: I "think" I remember you. If memory serves me well....SSG Burrell Harris was the TC of D-12. He and I arrived in country together, in early Jun 1967. I was the TC of D-13 from June through TET.

CSM (R) Arthur W. Hawthorne passed away on 5 Dec in Longview, Texas. CSM Hawthorne was the Regimental Sergeant Major when the Regiment deployed to Vietnam in 1966. He continued to serve as the Regimental Sergeant Major until his return to the states in Jun 1967. He later served as the CSM of the 2nd Armored Division at Fort Hood. CSM Hawthorne was also a veteran of WWII and Korea. He will be greatly missed by those that knew him.

Dec. 2nd 1966. As Lt Wilbert Radosevich leads a re supply convoy back to Blackhorse base camp from the engineer site at the the rock quarry in Gia Ray, the 275th Viet Cong regiment launch an ambush at Soui Cat. Showing an excellent example of the use of armor against the ambush tactics of the Viet Cong, Lt Radosevich leads a "herringbone formation", Capt. John R Landry leads Troop-B towards the ambush and they achive "supierior fire power", together they destroy most, if not all of the Viet Cong. Most of these men where still very familiar with the ambush of Nov. 21st. The loss of one trooper and 22 wounded is a testament to their extraordinary courage!

Was sent to the 11th Cav around Sept '67 from the 3rd/5th Cav. Left in Jan '68. Does anyone remember Gerald Blackmun? he was with me at the 3/5 and went to the 11th about the same time. Looking for any information.
