Thanks Barb for telling us what the old way was like! I'm all for the way it is now, old way sounds depressing and life is too short for that. Will now finish my box and get it shipped off. Patty

Forgot to tell you. The old way of the Ladies meeting was for everyone to sit in a circle and they woud go around and introduce themselves and tell who their husband was and why they were there.
Most often it turned into a boo-hoo session about "my husband does this or acts this way".
Not much fun. Kind of depressing. :)

Hi Patty

So glad to hear you have something for the Angles project. Yep, just send them to one of the girls listed below.
Happy and relived to hear your son is home. Please thank him for me. Tell him we are all very proud of him, he is in our eyes a true hero, and above all WELCOME HOME!

BARB :o

Okay, I give up. At the Ladies Meeting you all said you wanted to do the project that would show support of our female soldiers oversees. But I guess you don;t. because to date NO ONE has commented on it. I have heard nothing from the two ladies who volunteered to head up this project. So what gives? Do you want to do this or not? Or would you rather go back to the way the women's group originally was at the very beginning.
I would love to know your thoughts.

Okay a few of you who were not at the ladies meeting seem to be lost as to what the Soldiers Angles is all about. So I will attempt to explain it in just a few words. They are an organization that was founded a few years ago to see that our troops serving overseas in Iraq and Afghanastan know that there are folks here at home who are thinking of them and proud of the work they are doing for us. There are many ways this organization has to help. They range from simple letter writing to hosting welcome parties. Having lived near a military post for almost 40 years and having talked to many of our returning troopers both male and female I heard their wants and needs. And the biggest wants came from our female soldiers. They all said the same thing. "It's so hard to get 'female' supplies. So we decided to do up a few care packages to some of them. The boxes will be put together by Cookie and Sarah but we must all help with finding the supplies for them. So when you are out shopping pick up one or two of the things on the list that I already posted. The female soldiers also said their hardest times were during the holidays. So let's try to get at least one or two packages ready to be sent out in time for the Christmas and Hanaukau holidays. Please ladies (and guys) let's try to make this a more cheerful holiday for those who are doing so much for our freedom. Just stop and think how you felt those many years ago and open your hearts and help us make this project a HUGE success.
