Please let me know what I have to do to make sure that my daughter and her family are registered. I want them to be able to interact and learn from REAL heroes what all has been done and is being done to protect our nation.
Also do you need any more info on the Angel Boxes.

Just want to remind you all that if you have ANYONE coming with you to ANY part of the reunion (even the Bunker) MUST BE REGISTERED AND HAVE A NAME TAG. If they do not they will be asked to leave.

Ladies

Please don't forget that we are meeting on Friday afternoon this year.
This is a VERY IMPORTANT meeting as we are going to be doing a little bit of re-organization. There are a few areas that still need someone to chair them and others to help on them.
All will be filled by volunteers. If more that one person volunteers for a job then we will be holding nominations and elections.
You MUST be at the meeting to be given the job.
This is VERY important as it effects the continuation of our group.
We will have no door prize this year.
Information concerning the cruise will be discussed. We may even be giving out some awards.
So PLEASE PLAN ON ATTENDING.

Barb,
During the last year, I have sent out 7 Angel Boxes.
I had response from 3 people, sending packages and 1 check.
The boxes I sent out were 95% bought and paid for by Rick and myself. Each box had at least $200 worth of items included and postage.
I do believe that these boxes have helped many of our women overseas. And I would love to continue, but Rick is going to be retiring in Aug. of next year, which means I am not going to be able to continue to finance this alone. The only thing that would be necessary to keep this afloat would be for others to become involved and instead of hoping others are picking up the slack, is picking up the responce themselves.
I have recieved 2 letters from Afganistan thanking us for all we did and how much it meant to them. At that time I could not just stop sending them. So I just did it myself. And no, We do NOT want to get our money back. WE did this for love of out country and our soldiers.
When we began this project, I was overjoyed at being allowed to help and make something great happen. But, I wanted it to be a combined effort, not just the effort of 3 or 4 people.
It brakes my heart to suggest we discontinue this effort, but I know I can't do this alone. It is absolutely worth doing, but not with just one person doing almost all of it. Or even 5 or 6 people. We just haven't had enough help from other women in the group.
I will bring the letters with me to St. Louis so every one can see.
If you want me to continue this I will, but on a much smaller scale.
I don't want to lose hope yet. Will see you all in St. Louis.

Ladies, The tickets have been paid. If you have to cancel I cannot promise you your money back. It will be up to the boat company. If they do allow it, it won't be till after the reunion.

WE WILL BE HAVING A GROUP PHOTO TAKEN WHEN WE BOARD THE CRUISE BOAT.
YOU WILL BE ABLE TO PICK THE PHOTOS UP AT THE END OF THE TRIP. I JUST NEED TO KNOW WHO WILL WANT PICTURES. COST FOR THEM ARE 5X7= $10 8X10 = $20. DO NOT SEND ANYTHING TO ME. IT WILL BE HANDLED BY THE BOAT LINE .

I was happy to read in the Thunder Run yesterday that we will be going on the boat ride while the guys are having their membership meeting so I don't need to put him in a Husbands Day Care Center!
