Comments: Hi Everyone!! I'm very sorry for not being as active this year as I would have liked to, but so much has happened (LOTS)in the last 7 or 8 months, my head has really wanted to explode! But, no luck, just have to deal as best I can. My health has become a very large part of it, and then Rick is going to retire in July (no telling how that will work), along with being the mother of 8 kids, with 8 grandchildren and 3 more on the way, my brain is toast. For the most part life is confusing. Since I am pretty much a shut in, all the traveling and having to try to go to Doctors I don't know, and places I've never been, it is just plain scary. Strange. But, I do have a strong "You will not beat me" attitude, so one day, I'll come out on top. Just not today. Anyway, to the important stuff. I am not very diplomatic, ever, so to anyone who thinks or feels that we should disband, be more quiet, give them our best ideas, things WE thought of and showed them we absolutely have made a big difference in supporting our men as well as each other, tell them to back the ____ off. We were the ones that were left here to keep the homes and prayers running every second they were gone, and held them when the nightmares came home with them. And, some of us joined them, doing whatever the military wanted or needed us to do, whenever and wherever we were needed. Don't dismiss us. We were important then and we are important now and so are the things we do. Tell 'em to back off and stay off. Anyway, that's my opinion. Time for more pills, so I'll check in later. God bless us all!! Sarah

Comments: Hello ladies: How is everyones summer going? Schools out this Friday! wish I could send pictures my gladiolus are huge and extra beautiful this year. Wish they could stay till memorial day. Hummingbirds are back, and love watching them. Everyone have a happy fun filled summer, anxious for Orlando but that would mean summer is over and old man winter will be tapping us on the back! Take care all.

Comments: Despite what any of you may hear, the Women's Group IS NOT folding and I am NOT stepping down. NO MATTER WHAT!! EVEN IF WE NEED TO FIND A DIFFERENT PLACE TO MEET!
There are those who do not feel we should operate, that we do 'support' the 11th as they feel we should be. What more we can do - I do not know. We already turn over all our money each year to them leaving some of us to fund everything else we choose to do.
They don't feel we should be 'selling' anything as it takes away from the Quartermaster store and that we are really more like an outside 'vendor' and that is prohibited under their by laws.
They want to take away our constant item (and the item we thought of), the lanyard and have it placed in the Quartermasteer store. NO WAY> first of all we get these at an super super price (like less than half) as the owner of the company we order from and I went to school together and does this as a favor to me. Will we give out this info - NO.
So ladies please come to the meeting this year and show your support and get involved. It really does take more than just a couple of individuals to operate and accomplish things . WE DO NEED YOUR HELP.

Comments: Hi Ladies,
Kathy and I are looking for someone who will be attending the reunion this year and lives in Florida, that would be willing to accept the responsibility of recieving our cookbook order, and would be able to bring them to us at the hotel on Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest. I am not sure at this time how many boxes that will entail. They are packed about 50 to a case and we are ordering 300 - 400 books. So that would probably be about 8 cases. Please contact me ASAP if you can help. We have to have this information before we send in our order. If we have no one for this we will be unable to order them at all. If we were to mail them to the hotel to hold for us it would cost a lot in storage fees (last I heard it was somewhere in the vacinity of 50 dollars per box.)

Comments: Delores Tyree, at last years reunion you stated that you would be willing to accept any deliveries for this year fund raiser. It is now time for us to place our order for our cookbooks (vol 2) and need to know if you are still willing to accept them and bring them to us at the hotel.

Comments: Good morning ladies, I just wanted to drop you a short line to appologize if you e-mail me today and I do not respond right away. I will be off of my computer most of the day. We lost our beloved 13 and a half year old Chihuahua Poncho this morning. This is very hard on our entire family as he came to us when we lost our first one Poco 13 years ago. He helped then to mend our broken hearts and fill a big hole in our lives. He was a constant companion to us, he even went to church and shopping with us when he was little and would fit into our coat pocket. He always was at the door and greeted us when we came home with a puppy kiss and tail that you thought would fall off from wagging so hard. It's going to take a little while to get our lives back to normal and not expect him to come running and get between my feet when i least expected him too. We will all really miss him sooooo much. He took with him a big part of our hearts and life. We do still have Peso (our Chicuahua/Jack Russel mix and he is such a joy and comfort to us. He knows his brother is gone and so is sticking very close today. So anyway please understand if I don't respond to you right away. All my Love Barb
