Sorry Barb to hear your soap is ending today. Wonder if they ran out of story lines or something. I'm sure they will replace it with something NO-ONE watches like one of those reality shows as they seem to be taking over.

Admin reply: Story lines were strong. It is being replaced by "The Chew" which is produced by Barbara Walters (of the VIEW). Just what we need - another food show.
I've heard that my soap is going to be picked up by an internet line.
And life goes on.

I can't believe how I'm feeling today. As many of you know All My Children is airing for the last time today. I remember seeing the very first episode as a new bride. How can they do this. It just isn't fair. Don't the soap producers know that to many of us (military especially) these people are our "families"? That they at times were our only connection to home?
The end of an era.

Hi Ladies
I just want to drop you all a line to try to clear up some mis communication that seems to have occured.
First let me say that this is very unusual for plans to be made this far in advance for the next meeting. Usually at this time I am finally starting to 'think' about next reunion. And so I am just getting started on designs for the name tag as well as the meal tickets. So to even be thinking this much about our meeting is certainly different.
AT OUR MEETING we will be working on quilt squares. Since this is a meeting project and ALL of our supplies are being DONATED we do have certain things and ways of doing this.
As stated at the meeting, you are welcome to work on some designs you would like to see on the squares. BUT DO NOT MAKE ANY ACTURAL SQUARES AT HOME.
As I said EVERYTHING is being donated. Here's what we will have AT the meeting.
White fabric squares that measure 15 inches by 15inches.
Fabric paint * * *

We will devide into groups of 2 or 3 (not necessarily with someone you came with) and each group will work on one (1) square.
At the end of the meeting I will be turning them over to someone who has offered to help turn them into a quilt. This quilt will be DONATED at the 2013 reunion in Indianapolis to the silent auction from the Blackhorse Ladies group. WE WILL NOT SELL IT!!!
So between now and then start thinking about what you would like to see on it (military designs) and maybe even sketch a few ideas. BUT DO NOT MAKE ANYTHING.

As always we hope you will join us for fun and freindship. So even if you don't want to participate, come and join us anyway and watch all the fun.
If you have ANY questions PLEASE email, call or write to me so we can discuss it.
Barb :)

Have we heard back from Mrs. Starry concerning the prayer
shawl I mailed to her? I can mail another one but I think it is important to know the color preference and
size of the recipient. The one sent to Mrs. Starry was
a wool blend since she is in Ohio and that is appropriate
material. It wouldn't be for a Florida widow. I do not
subscribe to Facebook either and I am not going to use
it for communication.

Admin reply: Margaret,

I have not heard from Mrs. Starry to date. Do Not send her another. I'm sure it just takes some time.

Understand about Facebook as we have several others who do not have it. I will continue to post here as well.

Have you been in contact with Cherry Platt? She is the Chairperson of the Prayer Shawl project. Let me know if you are in need of her email.

Ladies, I have just had an e-mail from Alen Hathaway that we have about 16 death announcements. Now I don't know if all are from our starting date which was after the reunion ended . But we really need to get everyone who can crochet or knit to contact Cherry Platt about making a prayer shawl. We need to stock pile them so we don't miss anyone.
Cherry email is fredplatt@att.net
