Sorry first entry did have the information.

Good afternoon, I am a daughter to Orlan Erickson he was in Vietnam during 69-71. He passed away in 1999 and I am creating a memorial shadow box of his medals earned and researching more information on the 11th armored Cavalry. I am probably digging in a pile of needles but if there is anyone who knew of him or stood by him during Vietnam I would love to be able to connect with some that were over there with him. Thank you so much for your time and have a blessed day
he was in HHT Regiment 1/70 – 12/70.

Has anyone returned to the Blackhorse base camp in RVN. I am wanting to know if it still exists. I ran across an article on the Frenchman pool at Quan Loi and found it was leveled at the end of the war. I am returning to Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Cambodia during the month of november and was going to stop and take some pictures. If anyone has any info please advise back.

Thank You

I am a volunteer working to locate photos of all fallen heros of the vietnam war. I am looking for a photo of SSGT Walter Burns from Due West, South Carolina, who died 9/24/67. If anyone has a photo, please contact me so I may place it on the virtual wall.

November 11, 2017, will mark the 35th anniversary of the dedication of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, DC.

As part of the commemoration of The Wall’s 35th anniversary, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund (VVMF) will be hosting the 2017 Reading of the Names inscribed on the wall. Volunteers are needed for this monumental event, as a reader or as a spectator, in honor of their sacrifice.

The Reading of the Names will take place at The Wall over a four-day period beginning with an opening ceremony on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at 3:00 pm and ending at 12 am on November 10. Each volunteer will read 30 names in approximately two minute intervals.

The wall originally listed 58,191 names when it was dedicated on November 11, 1983. As of May 2017, there are now 58,318 names, including 730 Blackhorse troopers.

If you live in the Washington, DC, area or will be visiting during this time, please consider volunteering to read names. It is an honor to read names. You must register as a volunteer by August 11, 2017. For more information and to register as a volunteer, please visit www.vvmf.org/rotn
